Cereal Dessert Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 Batch of “Cheerio” Cookies (see recipe below)
  • 1 Batch of “Milk” (see recipe below)
  • Toppings : Sliced Bananas & Strawberries (optional)

Directions

Add 1/2 cup of prepared vanilla pudding (the “Milk”) to favorite cereal bowl, top with cooled “Cheerio” cookies, and garnish with sliced bananas and strawberries. Enjoy!

The “Cheerio” Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/2 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature

2 Tablespoon + 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

1 large egg white

1/8 cup honey

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Position racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.

Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Beat the butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the egg, honey and vanilla and beat until combined. Reduce the mixer speed to low; add the flour mixture and beat until just incorporated (the dough will be soft).

Fill a piping bag with the dough; pipe out the “cheerios” cookies about 1/2 inches apart onto 2 ungreased baking sheets. You can also spoon dough and poke a hole in the center to create ring shape.

Bake, switching the position of the pans halfway through, until the cookies are just golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes on the baking sheets, then transfer to racks to cool completely.

The “Milk”

1 package instant vanilla pudding

Directions

Prepare as directed on the package and chill until ready to serve.
