Way Cool Covid-19 Update

We would like to thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we have been navigating this time as a small business. It’s Way Cool people like you that have kept us in business for over 15 years creating memories and building lifelong skills in the kitchen. We are exciting to officially announce that we are open!

While things may look a little different, we can’t wait to have you join us in the kitchen for cooking classes, camps, parties, corporate events & more! Our current protocols regarding Covid-19 and how our classes/events work are listed below for you to check out. We have also been working hard continuing to offer virtual/kit for pick up options if joining us in person is not yet the best choice for you/your family.

*Please note our protocol may change and will be updated as we receive new information from the CDC and Minnesota Government to meet the most current guidelines.

Please call us at 952-949-6799 with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your reservation.

How We’re Handling Events/Classes

In addition to following the protocol listed above, here are some of the changes we’ve made to our events and cooking classes to ensure the safety and health of both our guests and our staff.

Kids Birthday Parties

We have decreased our capacity by 50% for our birthday parties by only utilizing one of our two kitchen spaces. For now, we ask that you only invite 10 or less guests to maintain the current group size restrictions in MN. We are individualizing as many projects as possible for each party menu to reduce the number of kids handling each other’s food. Rather than being at one large table together, the kids will have their own socially distanced table to cook and eat at. The tables will be in a half-circle shape so that the kids can all still see each other, interact with each other and the Way Cool Chef, and celebrate the birthday child. We will still sing happy birthday and serve either cake or the kids can eat their cupcakes that they make.

We are doing everything we can to make your child’s birthday party as awesome and fun as possible! (Even if our new normal looks a little different for now.) Below you can see what our socially distanced parties look like, customized to the party theme you choose.

Cooking Classes

We are working on adding a few new cooking classes for the summer and even more for the fall. Our class sizes will be reduced to 50% capacity which ends of being about 9-10 people per class or 5 families for our family classes. We are individualizing as many of the cooking projects in each class as possible. Any food that is being prepared for the entire class will be handled by the Way Cool Chefs hosting the class. Each family, couple or person attending the class will have their own area to prepare food and eat. Your food may be served on disposable paper ware with disposable utensils. If non-disposable dishes are used they well be cleaned and sanitized properly by Way Cool staff. We will also have additional cleaning procedures as stated above.

Summer Camps

We are going forward with our 2020 Summer Camp Program and it has officially started! We have implemented additional screening procedures at check in for camp, including a thermal scanner to take temperatures of both kids and the adults dropping them off. We are functioning at 50% capacity for our camps between our two kitchen spaces. Kids will be working in groups of 4-5 kids approximately and stay with that same group all week. Children are not required to wear face masks but are certainly welcome to. Our chefs working with the kids will be wearing face masks. We are individualizing the food preparation as much as possible and if not possible then limiting the food handling to the small group they will be with or the Way Cool Chefs leading their group. We are also offering a Cooking 101, Baking 101, or Advanced Camp kit for pick up as an alternative if joining us for in-person camps is not the best choice for your family.

Our camps may look a little different this year but we are just as excited to build new skills and have fun in the kitchen with your kids!

Corporate Team Building Events

What better time to get your team together than after you been working separately from home for months? Time for a much needed experience together! Currently we are limiting our group sizes for corporate events to a maximum of 25 people (*subject to change as CDC restrictions change over time). We have two kitchen spaces that we can socially distance in to accommodate your group. We are also developing a Virtual Nailed It Team Building experience that your team can do from home! More info on this opportunity to be released shortly.

Private Events/Bachelorette Parties, Etc.

As weddings, birthday celebrations and other group gatherings have been pushed back the last few months, we would love to help you plan your private event! Currently we are limiting our group sizes for private events to a maximum of 25 people (*subject to change as CDC restrictions change over time). We have two kitchen spaces that we can socially distance in to accommodate your group.
