It’s National Apple Day! Use up your apples from the apple orchard and celebrate in the kitchen with us making individual apple crisps, topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect fall dessert.

Individual Apple Crisps (30 Minutes)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Divide the mixture among four ramekins.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and diced cold butter. Use your fingers to incorporate until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the ramekins.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Allow the apple crisps to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
